Collages are a predominant form of votive offering in Mexico. A collage might include a drawing, photograph, and narrative text; an object associated with the miracle or its recipient (baby clothes are common) together with photographs and a text; or a text accompanied by an illustration (photograph, artwork, news clipping) and a hair cutting or braid. Many collages are framed and others are wrapped in plastic. In simpler offerings a photograph or textual message might be pinned to an article of clothing, or diverse offerings might be enclosed together in a plastic bag.
